Who Can Register for an e-Shram Card?
Any unorganized worker between the ages of 16-59 is eligible. This includes construction workers, migrant laborers, street vendors, domestic workers, and agricultural laborers who are not members of EPFO/ESIC or an income taxpayer.
Step-by-Step Registration Process
Step 1: Visit the e-Shram Portal
Go to the official e-Shram portal (eshram.gov.in). The self-registration requires your Aadhaar number and a mobile number linked to it.
Step 2: Aadhaar Authentication
Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and the captcha. You will receive an OTP for verification. After entering the OTP, you'll be asked for your Aadhaar number for another OTP-based authentication.
Step 3: Fill in Your Personal and Occupational Details
Once authenticated, your demographic details from Aadhaar will be displayed. You will need to fill in additional information, including your address, educational qualifications, occupation, and bank account details. Providing accurate bank details is crucial for receiving direct benefit transfers (DBT).
Step 4: Download Your e-Shram Card
After submitting all the required information, your e-Shram card will be generated. It will have a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN). You can download the card and save it for your records.
